1st Juicing Recipe - Pineapple Green Juice

Today we tried out our new juicer for the first time! We found this website and decided to try out the Pineapple Green Juice today - and it actually tasted pretty good for being something super healthy! We're newbies to the world of juicing and aren't very confident in making up our own juice recipes yet. So in the meantime we are experimenting and learning as we go. Searching for some combinations that people have tried and loved, and now we're trying them ourselves. I myself am a smoothie kinda gal. So trying this juice today wasn't exactly my kind of cool yummy goodness. But I think once I get use to it I'll develop more of a liking for it. The pineapple definitely made this juice! I'm not so sure it would be as good without that extra sweetness from the fruit. One thing that surprised us today was how fast and easy it was to prepare this juice. It's something you can make in a matter of minutes and it's a simple way to get that boost of energy and vitamins that most of us are lacking in our diets. If you do some research you'll quickly find out how many health benefits juicing can give you. It's really amazing!

Can't wait to try out the Green Lemonade Juice soon! Ok off to bed I go! :)
Have a good one guys!

Pineapple Green Juice

1/2 Pineapple
1 Cucumber
4-5 Handfuls of Spinach
Half bunch of mint

Directions: Juice all of the items according to your juicers instructions. Our juicer made about 500-750 ml with this recipe.

Enjoy!

Homemade Waffles

Hello fellow readers! If there are any of you left out there...

I'm back! My apologies for disappearing on you all again...I know I haven't been very successful with keeping the posts coming every week. Or well, let's be honest here - even once a month! I really have no excuse for you this time. Just down right laziness is what it is. I've had so many people ask me why I haven't posted anything in awhile...and my comeback to that is always "Well I've been so busy lately." But I've realized I will no longer be using this excuse! Since there are people out there with much busier lives than I have and they are able to stay dedicated to this that they have on the side in their life as well. I started this blog for a purpose and I would really like to stick to it this time! So here is goes.

Do you know what day is fast approaching us? SATURDAY! And do you have any ideas what you'll be making for breakfast/brunch on Saturday morning??? Ok, I'm sure for atleast 95% of you, that is the last thing on your mind right now. But it's on mine!!!! I know, I'm a weirdo.

Waffles are a Saturday morning favorite in our house. Whether they're hidden beneath strawberries and whipped cream, or drowned in maple syrup - they are the perfect breakfast in my opinion. When we have company staying overnight this is usually our go-to breakfast since the batter is so quick and easy to throw together. I love the smell of them sizzling away in the waffle iron! It's a great trick for getting your family or friends out of bed in the morning. Usually it's just Ben, Landon, and I here and there is no way that the 2 of us alone can polish off the entire batch - so they go right into the freezer in a ziplock bag, and the next morning they are in the toaster for a yummy quick breakfast!

To make these waffles for breakfast at your house - you'll need:

2 cups of Flour
1 1/2 Tbsp of Baking Powder
2 Tbsp of Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp of Salt
1 1/2 cups of Whole Milk
1/2 cup of Unsalted Butter (melted)
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract

1. Add Flour, Baking Powder, Salt and sugar, Mix to combine.

2. In another bowl mix together the Milk, Eggs, Butter and Vanilla for about 1 minute or until well mixed.

3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and just mix them enough to combine but don't over mix. Let the batter sit for 5 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions, lightly grease the waffle maker with either vegetable oil or cooking spray. Cook the waffles according to the directions on your waffle iron. All waffle irons are different so the amount you should add to it and how long you should cook it for will vary.

5. Serve them fresh off the grill while they're piping hot! You can top them with Icing sugar, Maple syrup, Nutella, or with berries and whipped cream. So delicious!

I hope your Saturday morning will taste as good as ours will! ;)

Have a great day everyone! And as always - Thanks for reading!
