3 Clever Uses for Rubber Bands around the House
Rubber bands can be little heroes in the workplace. I can remember using them at Tim Hortons to keep folders closed, wrap around the coin rollers, or to quickly throw my hair up in a ponytail when I forgot my regular hair elastic. Of course I've used them for the normal things around the house too...Like closing up that stubborn frozen bag of peas that won't stay closed, using it as a bookmark, or even to keep wires together - but I've noticed there are many different uses for rubber bands that never crossed my mind before. If I'd find one laying around the house, I'd usually just chuck it in the garbage - and if you're the same way...think again! I've realized just how handy they are for many different things and I'll never be throwing another rubber band out again.
These are just 3 uses that might help make life a little easier. I've been using them and I absolutely love it! Some of you might know about these clever uses already but for those of you who don't - I'm sure you'll find it pretty cool!

Storing pot lids

My husband first showed me this picture from a "handy man's website" I guess you could say - and I was truly amazed! Why have I not thought of this before??? Is this something people know about and I'm just out of the loop on this?
I really wanted to share this idea with you because I think it's such a cheap and easy way to make the most out of your space. Especially if you're running out of room in your cupboards like me! I find it very handy to have my pot lids accessible and not jumbled all over the place in my cupboards. It makes it easier to quickly find the lid size that you need and...well...it's just an awesome idea! This little project might not work for everyone depending on the type of cupboards you have and where you store your pots and pans - but it definitely works well on a low cupboard like this.
Blueberry Banana Orange Muffins
I love taking care of my family ~ Plain and simple ~ It's so satisfying and fullfilling to me to be a Housewife & Mother and I'm so happy and thankful to have that role in our house. Of course it comes with a good mix of hard and easy times like any career in this life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I'm gonna go back in time here for a moment to when I was in elementary school. I was never a child that enjoyed going to school. I'd watch the clock the entire day and couldn't wait until 3pm. Finally when that bell would ring, I'd quickly gather my stuff and I was out of there! I'd meet my siblings at the front of the school, and we would walk that long walk down McConnell road that always seemed to take forever! Crossed the busy streets - ok we could finally see the sign for our street - wayyy down at the end of the street was our little blue house - Ok, almost there!!! ... walk up the steps and through the door...and there mom would be. Standing there in her cute blue and white checkered apron with a big smile on her face - asking us how school went and helping us take off our heavy backpacks. Of course it was pretty obvious by the smell in the house that mom had been baking something yummy just minutes before we arrived. There were always fresh muffins on the countertop, cookies on the cooling rack, or a delicious dinner sizzling away in the oven. When you're 8 years old and had almost an hour walk home from school - Mom was the hero at that point!

Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken
I know I've said it before but I love my Crock-Pot. It's one of my favorite kitchen appliances! My Kitchen-Aid Mixer is my # 1. My Crock-Pot is my # 2. I absolutely love how effortless making a delicious meal can be. Often times I find myself trying to figure out what I'll be making for dinner that night when it's 9:00 in the morning. Lately I've been trying to get suggestions from my husband for dinner ideas - or my brother-in-law...And I usually get the confused look, the shrugged shoulders, and the same words I hear oh so often. "Whatever you'd like...?"

1st Juicing Recipe - Pineapple Green Juice
Today we tried out our new juicer for the first time! We found this website and decided to try out the Pineapple Green Juice today - and it actually tasted pretty good for being something super healthy! We're newbies to the world of juicing and aren't very confident in making up our own juice recipes yet. So in the meantime we are experimenting and learning as we go. Searching for some combinations that people have tried and loved, and now we're trying them ourselves. I myself am a smoothie kinda gal. So trying this juice today wasn't exactly my kind of cool yummy goodness. But I think once I get use to it I'll develop more of a liking for it. The pineapple definitely made this juice! I'm not so sure it would be as good without that extra sweetness from the fruit. One thing that surprised us today was how fast and easy it was to prepare this juice. It's something you can make in a matter of minutes and it's a simple way to get that boost of energy and vitamins that most of us are lacking in our diets. If you do some research you'll quickly find out how many health benefits juicing can give you. It's really amazing!
Can't wait to try out the Green Lemonade Juice soon! Ok off to bed I go! :)
Have a good one guys!
